Logano Headed to Penske Racing 2013

According the The Charlotte Observer, Joey Logano is expected to join Penske racing to take over the No. 22 ride and be a teammate of Brad Keselowski in the Cup Series next season.

With Matt Kenseth being announced on Tuesday to drive the No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing machine for the 2013 season, it left Logano without a ride in the cup series for next season until now.

Joe Gibbs Racing was hoping to keep Logano has a driver of a fourth team if they could locate sponsorship or have him race in the NASCAR Nationwide Series.

Sam Hornish Jr. had been filling in for the suspended A.J. Allmendinger in the No. 22 for Penske Racing -- battling for a chance to drive the No. 22 full-time next season -- but it looks as his results or lack there of results in the recent weeks were not enough to warrant a cup deal.

An announcement could come as early as Tuesday.
