Will Tropical Storm Isaac Affect This Weekend’s Atlanta Race?

Tropical storm Isaac is expected to become a hurricane as it continues to head into the south, which kickstarted my thinking , will this affect this weekend's NASCAR weekend at the Atlanta Motor Speedway?

This weekend for the second week in a row all three of the top series in NASCAR will converge at the same race track, the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series kicks off the weekend on Friday with qualifying, practices and their race, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series also begins on Friday with one practice along with qualifying Friday evening.

We just really don't know when or where Isaac will hit land and until then we really don't have a clue where this storm is headed after that. All we have to predict on as of right now is models and some of those models are taking the storm to the midwest, others move into Georgia Thursday/Friday morning.

Something to monitor as the race weekend gets closer.

The weather channel as of Sunday is predicting strong chances of thunderstorms all race weekend long.
