Dale Jr. to Participate in Kansas Tire Test

It was confirmed today by Hendrick Motorsports that Dale Earnhardt Jr. will join other NASCAR Sprint Cup drivers for an upcoming tire test at the newly reconfigured Kansas Speedway later this month.

The tire test will be held August 28-29 and each 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. session is free-of-charge.

10 to 15 drivers are scheduled to show.

Kansas Speedway embarked on a $9 million repaving of the track immediately after last April's Sprint Cup race. They increased the banking in the turns from 15 degrees to a variable 20-degrees, they also added a road course in the infield for Grand-Am racing.

The first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series on the newly reconfigured speedway will be Oct. 21, the sixth race in the ten-race Chase for the Sprint Cup
