As the green flag waves Wednesday night for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, it will mark the first major NASCAR event on the new concrete surface at Bristol Motor Speedway.

It is a bit of rarity to see the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race in the middle of the week, but I think it's pretty awesome because we get  a fix of racing on what would be normally a boring Wednesday night during August.

Wednesday night's race kicks off of a week of NASCAR at Bristol, the NASCAR Nationwide Series will race on Friday night and the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will cap off of the weekend Saturday night under the lights with a 500-lap race.

The 0.533-mile, high-banked Bristol oval underwent a surface alteration following the spring events at the speedway because simply the racing was uneventful, uneventful racing escalated to empty seats, and a lot of them.

Brad Keselowski is the only NASCAR Sprint Cup Series regular in the truck field, Brad is doing triple duty this weekend.

Nelson Piquet Jr. comes into Wednesday with some added confidence as he took the checkered flag a week ago at Michigan for his first career truck series win, Piquet will also be in Friday night's NASCAR Nationwide Series race.

Both practices and Qualifying will be held Wednesday afternoon, I will keep you updated throughout the day.

The truck series has featured 10 different winners in the 12 truck race this season.

Timothy Peters and Ty Dillon come into the weekend at a virtual lock at the top of the points standings.
