The NASCAR Sprint Cup
Series caps off this festive weekend at the Bristol Motor Speedway with a 500-
lap race around the 0.533 Short-track Saturday night.
This will be the first
race on the newly reconfigured Bristol Motor Speedway for the Cup guys,
nobody really know what's is going to happen Saturday night but if the NASCAR
Nationwide Series race is a precursor, we are in for some action this evening.
It looked like old
Bristol a night ago, beating and banging everywhere and even tempers getting a
little heated after the race as we had some heated confrontations, I sure hope
that boils over to tonight's race.
Brad Keselowski will
be going for his third win in a row at the speedway.
ABC will have the call
on television this afternoon, they will come on-air at 7:00 p.m. EDT with the
green flag to be waved at 7:43 p.m. EDT. Allen Bestwick, Dale
Jarrett, Andy Petree will have the call in the booth with Dave Burns, Mike
Massaro, Dr. Jerry Punch, Vince Welch on pit-road.
There have been 39
different drivers that have won at Bristol, led By Darrel Waltrip with twelve.
The deepest in the
field that a race winner has starter from was 38th, by Elliott Sadler in 2001.
82 of 1o3 races have
been won from a top-ten starting position.
We will have updates
and stories after the race on the website. Everybody enjoy their night and the
race.
Qualifying was rained
out on Sunday so the starting field has been set by Friday's first practice
times.
