Trucks on the dirt in 2013

NASCAR will race on the dirt for the first time since 1970 next season when the Camping World Truck Series visits Eldora Speedway in Ohio. I don't know if any of you know this but that track is owed byTony Stewart and Dale jr and couple other drivers own.

The trucks will go to the Tony Stewart-owned track in Rossburg on July 24 as a lead-in to the Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series races later that weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The 2013 Camping World Truck schedule also features the first international event with a September stop at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in Ontario. The series also races on a Wednesday night at Bristol Motor Speedway.

If y'all read the Articles before this one it has the full schedule of the truck series, it is also on that page if you need check it out during 2013 season.

Also announced in the 2013 schedule release is a race at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, a 2.459-mile,10-turn road course in Bowmanville, Ont., which will host its inaugural truck event Sept. 1.

"It has been one of the hardest things to not talk about I think in my entire professional racing career," said Stewart, who also co-owns Stewart-Haas Racing. "To have had the opportunity to go and do a test earlier this year with the trucks was just really a dream come true for us as a facility.

"I've always joked around and people say, 'What would you do if you could change the schedule?' I always joke around about saying, I would add a dirt race."

James Buescher wins his first career championship

James Buescher started in the middle of the pack, barely cracked the top 10 and never even sniffed the lead.

He caught a huge break when his Turner Motorsports teammate made contact with his closest competition, Ty Dillon.
No doubt, Buescher felt fortunate to end up celebrating a championship in Victory Lane.

“It wasn’t pretty,” Buescher said. “It was a little messy, but we did it. ... This is definitely the coolest thing I’ve ever done in racing.”

Buescher avoided trouble and finished 13th in the season finale Friday night, enough to win NASCAR’s Truck Series championship by six points.

Cale Gale won the 200-mile race at Homestead-Miami Speedway, edging Kyle Busch at the line as both trucks sparked after hard contact.

The more significant celebration, though, was saved for Buescher. It was his first title in four full-time seasons.

“It was close. Ty was giving us a run for it,” Buescher said. “I just about went in the fence myself, but I held it together and everything came our way.”

Dillon was in position to pull off an upset with three laps remaining — he was running second and just a point behind — but made contact with Kyle Larson. Both trucks hit the wall in the fourth turn and were mangled in the mess.

Afterward, Dillon questioned whether Larson should have been racing so hard because he wasn’t in the title hunt.

“I’m all right with the way things finished,” Dillon said. “We were trying to hit the home run in the bottom of the ninth, but it bounced off the wall.”

Danica Patrick and husband getting divorced after seven years

Danica Patrick her husband are divorcing after seven years of marriage.

Patrick announced the split with Paul Hospenthal on her Facebook page. She said the two have amicably decided to end their marriage.

Patrick just completed her first full season in NASCAR, running the full Nationwide schedule and 10 Sprint Cup Series races.

She finished 10th in Nationwide points, becoming the highest-finishing female driver in the history of NASCAR's three national series. The previous record was held by Sara Christian, who finished 13th in 1949 in the Cup series.

Brad Keselowski wins his first champion -2012

The 28 year old Brad Keselowski, take championship away from 5x time Johnson on Sunday's race after something broke on his car.

They put Brad Keselowski, the freshly-minted Sprint Cup champion, live on SportsCenter Sunday evening, and to commemorate the moment he brought along a ridiculously oversized, maybe 128-ounce glass of Miller Lite, one of his sponsors.

Throughout the nearly five-minute interview he took gulp after big gulp from the glass, right on camera for everyone at home to see. They were the kind of gulps that went beyond the proverbial sponsor plug. He looked exactly like a man who just needed a beer. Not surprisingly, the dehydrated, 155-pound Keselowski was quickly showing the effects.

How you feeling, he was asked.

"Pretty damn awesome," Keselowski shouted into his handheld microphone. "I've got a little buzz going. I've been drinking for a little bit. It's been one hell of a day."

And then he just beamed a toothy, boyish, All-American grin, part joy, part mischief, part earned satisfaction.

"I did have a big cup," he later joked.

There really was only one predictable thing about the post-race scene: Brad Keselowski wasn't going to win a title quietly.

"Make some noise," he shouted to the crowd behind him. "You're on SportsCenter."

Later he was asked what being a champion might entail.

The new face of NASCAR: Brad Keselowski.
"I always wanted to date a celebrity, just throwing that out there," he said with a laugh. "That would be pretty cool, don't you think?"

Anyone in particular?

"Not a Kardashian," he said.

Sunday was a transitional day for NASCAR, one that it hopes is looked back on as the start of the Keselowski era (or at least the generation he represents), not the time when a slew of critical sponsors bailed on auto racing.

Dodge is gone. Office Depot is gone. AFLAC and UPS are gone, corporate money walking away from this once white-hot sport. To say there were unsettled stomachs and thousand-yard stares from some team owners here at the Sprint Cup finale doesn't begin to describe it. It's a winter of uncertainty ahead.

Kevin Harvick Moves to Stewart Haas Racing in 2014

If you guys think silly season is over yet will your thinking wrong, Big new out of Phoenix has set a new Silly Season standard: Kevin Harvick will be leaving Richard Childress Racing after the 2013 season to drive for one of his best pals, Tony Stewart, at Stewart Haas Racing in 2014.

Harvick still has 38 more races on his current contract with RCR, one more races this season and the full 36-race slate in 2013, but already folks are focusing on something that may not potentially happen for another 15 more months!

“Stewart-Haas Racing’s driver lineup is all set for 2013, but if you’re talking about 2014 and if Kevin Harvick is available, that’s something the team would have to look at," SHR team spokesman Mike Arning said in a statement. "Any team in this garage would do the same.

“From the moment Stewart-Haas Racing was formed, becoming a four-car team is something it’s been striving for. They have the infrastructure to accommodate a fourth team, and if everything aligns properly, it’s something they’ll do. So, if a driver the caliber of Kevin Harvick is available, it’s something they would pursue.”

Harvick was non-committal on the report, telling ESPN, "I'm looking forward to finishing out this season on a strong note with RCR and continuing to build our program going into the 2013 season with the ultimate goal of winning a championship. Anything beyond that, once I know what my future plans are set, I'll let you know."

In fact, Stewart went so far as to joke with reporters and how much do you want to bet that some of them actually bit at first that he had signed Dale Earnhardt Jr. to drive for the team in 2014, even though Junior is contractually committed to Hendrick Motorsports through at least 2017.

Cheerios To Sponsors Austin Dillon In 2013 Daytona 500

Richard Childress Racing has partnered with General Mills Honey Nut Cheerios for Nationwide ride Austin dillon, he will be driving No. No. 33 Honey Nut Cheerios® Chevrolet on February 24, 2013, at Daytona International Speedway.

"My family has so many memories of racing in the Daytona 500 so it is really special to me to be able to make my first Daytona 500 start," said Dillon. "With the support of General Mills and America's Favorite Cereal, Honey Nut Cheerios, I hope to continue RCR's winning tradition on restrictor plate tracks with my pal Buzz on the hood of the No. 33 Honey Nut Cheerios Chevrolet."

"General Mills is thrilled to be partnering with RCR and Austin Dillon for his Daytona 500 debut," said Gregg Dorazio, Manager of Shopper Marketing and Motorsports at General Mills. "Race fans will certainly be buzzing about Austin's appearance in The Great American Race. Austin adds even more excitement and opportunity to our 2013 Cheerios® Racing team and marketing plans."

The 2013 season will mark the fifth year of partnership between the Welcome, N.C.-based racing organization and General Mills, which is a major associate sponsor throughout the year in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series on the No. 31 Cheerios Chevrolet and driver Jeff Burton.

Burton will be running Cheerios on his car for six race.

RCR is a two-time winner of The Great American Race. The legendary Dale Earnhardt earned RCR's first Harley J. Earl trophy in 1998 in his 20th attempt. Kevin Harvick, currently the driver of RCR's No. 29 Chevrolet in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, won the event in 2007 by 0.02-of-a-second, the closest margin of victory since the first race in 1959.

"Competing in the Daytona 500 is a major step in Austin's career and we couldn't be more proud than to have General Mills expand its program with RCR for a second year on the No. 33 Chevrolet SS," said Richard Childress, president and CEO of Richard Childress Racing. "Austin has made a number of Sprint Cup Series starts so he understands the pressures at NASCAR's highest level but his first start in The Great American Race will be a special one."

Joey Coulter to Kyle Busch MotorSports team in 2013

Joey Coulter, who won his first Camping World Truck Series race this season at Pocono Raceway in August, announced on Tuesday that he will be driving for Kyle Busch Motorsports next year.

Details on the number he’ll be running and his sponsorship package will be announced at a later date.

Coulter currently ranks fifth in the 2012 Truck Series driver point standings and is tied for the series lead with three poles. The 22-year-old driver picked up his first career Truck Series win at Pocono (Pa.) Raceway in August and has collected six top-five and 13 top-five finishes in 20 starts this season.

“To say that I am excited about the opportunity to drive for KBM would be an understatement,” Coulter said in a statement released by the team. “Kyle Busch is a driver that I have always had a lot of respect for and looked up to because of his raw talent.

“To say that I am excited about the opportunity to drive for KBM would be an understatement,” Coulter expressed. “Kyle Busch is a driver that I have always had a lot of respect for and looked up to because of his raw talent.

Since I was 8 years old, winning races and championships in one of NASCAR’s top three series has been a dream and a goal of mine — I feel that joining KBM gives me a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to accomplish those goals. They are a team that has a winning attitude and have proven numerous times that they are capable of getting to victory lane. It is an honor to be given the chance to bring them their first driver championship.”

“Brian has proven to be successful in everything he has raced,” JGR team owner Joe Gibbs said.

“I am fortunate to have raced with Dollar General before, and I am so excited to be reunited with Rick (Dreiling, Dollar General chairman and CEO) and everyone involved with their program,” said Vickers on the JGR website. “Dollar General is a tremendous company, and its support and enthusiasm for racing is outstanding. I’m very happy to stay in the Toyota family, and when you look at the Nationwide Series over the past several years, no team has dominated like Joe Gibbs Racing. Hopefully we’ll be able to get Dollar General, Toyota and JGR a Nationwide Series Championship next season.”
